Enter the world of LUMINESCENT DUALITY, an immersive lighting exhibition delving into the delicate coexistence of opposing forces within object design.

For the occasion of Milan Design Week 2025, Gardam presents the dynamic relationship between light and shadow, clarity and obscurity – inviting visitors to question how light is truly perceived.

Through meticulously designed installations, Gardam showcases the transformative nature of light as it interacts with colour, texture and form, revealing and concealing in equal measure. Yet, perception is not solely shaped by these physical interactions; it is deeply influenced by individual experience.  Clouds floating into the unknown or the poetry of a falling tear, what is it besides the physical that compels us to see more.  The exhibition encourages visitors to shift their focus from the motifs themselves to the forces behind them – inviting personal reflection on what shapes perception beyond the physical.

The exhibition is a mix of new collections and limited editioned pieces.  Debuting are two new production collections, AERIS and SOLACE, both featuring mouth blown glass in new forms paired with brass architectural framing.  Also showcased is the VOLANT wall light, exhibited for the first time outside Australia and building on the success of the Volant collection released at TRANSCENDENCE, Gardam’s 2023 Milan Design Week Show in Brera.

RELIC is presented as the second in a series of editioned optical devices in solid cast glass.  RELIC serves as a sculptural form to perceive the non-physical, limited to an edition of 10, and marks the latest collaboration between Gardam and Peter Kovacsy.  Also on display is VESTIGE, the first in the series, conceived as an optical device that celebrates the allure, texture, and volume of glass.

Together we experience new perspectives on the elemental force of light, offering a space for reflection on the dualities inherent in life. LUMINESCENT DUALITY is not just a celebration of light, but a meditation on how opposites coexist, enhance, and define each other, urging us to find harmony within contrast.
