Volant – Making of Process

  • Volant – Making of Process
  • October 2023

Formed from machined solid brass, Volant is a modern chandelier that’s almost akin to a kinetic sculpture. Each brass component is delicately machined with precision and assembled in our Brunswick-based workshop. Solid brass bars, meticulously hand polished and finished in a bronze, blackened or hand rubbed brass are coated in a natural wax, resulting in an elegant matte finish that preserves the brass while allowing it to patina naturally.

Defined by a white glass diffuser pinned in place, the tubular formed glass elements are delicately angled to give the impression of floating objects revolving around each other. Each glass element produces distinct illumination with the modular nature allowing the fixture to span across a plethora of interior spaces.

Each component is made locally, finished and hand assembled with love and dedication in our workshop.
